Obstetrics

Caring for a woman through her pregnancy and her baby's birth is a very satisfying part of our practice.  We encourage you to be an active partner in your pregnancy care by communicating your thoughts and concerns so that together we can develop your individualized birth plan.  Our goal is to nurture your confidence in your ability to give birth as well as provide excellent medical care.

We are proud to offer choices in childbirth preparation and care.  We support a wide range of options from natural childbirth to the use of anesthesia, depending upon your preferences and labor situation.  We also support vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC).  Cystic fibrosis and Down's syndrome screening is available.  For your convenience, fetal monitoring, state-of-the-art ultrasound services and blood draw services are available in our office.

Our physicians coordinate and monitor the care of expectant women.  We provide care through pregnancy, during childbirth and up to six weeks following birth.  In addition to birth support, services include family planning and education, nutritional counseling, and free urine-pregnancy testing.

We welcome the opportunity to have a pre-conception visit to ensure that you are aware of actions you can take to optimize your health.

We have four obstetricians available in one convenient location in the Northgate area of Seattle. Your initial visit includes an extended review of your health history so that we may identify key points that will optimize your pregnancy. A physical exam and blood tests may be done.

Throughout your pregnancy, routine tests will be performed. To make the process as simple as possible, blood tests, non-stress tests, and biophysical profiles can be performed conveniently in our office. Ultrasound studies are also done on-site or at Northwest Hospital & Medical Center just a short drive away.

In addition to uncomplicated pregnancies, we care for women with high-risk pregnancies, such as those with previous miscarriages and those pregnancies accompanied by medical complications. We are also proud to continue to offer vaginal births for patients who have previously had cesarean sections.

When it comes time for your delivery, we believe that the care and facilities at Northwest Hospital & Medical Center are ideal. The Childbirth Center provides an intimate setting with private rooms so that the place you have your baby is the place you remain-you will not be shuffled from one room to another. A well trained staff and 24-hour anesthesia services complete the picture.

Circumcision: Our physicians perform male circumcisions in the newborn period. This can either be done in the hospital following delivery or in the office. We use a local anesthetic to ensure that this procedure is as comfortable as possible for your infant. Our office staff is happy to assist you in determining your insurance coverage for a circumcision.

Ultrasound: Meridian Women's Health is proud to be able to provide our patients with state-of-the-art technology that allows physicians and sonographers to acquire real-time images in a single action, resulting in images of unparalleled quality that allows extraordinary diagnostic accuracy.
